Diet & Flowers

Diet: What you eat can help a breech baby

Picture

The Deal:
It definitely seems a stretch to our usual ways of thinking, but according to Chinese medicine, breech babies are too yin and the mother needs to consume more yang foods.
How To:
Yang foods include fish, poultry, eggs, red meat, dairy, and miso. You should also decrease yin foods and products such as fruit, ice cream, oil, coffee, sweets, drugs, chemicals, cigarettes, and stress. That’s a lot of protein, and many natural birth professionals do recommend a high or very high protein diet for pregnancy.

Why it might work:

The Chinese know stuff. It’s kind of creepy.

Flower Essences: Bach flowers to turn a breech

Picture

Bougainvillea
The Deal:
Bougainvillea is rumored to have a turning effect on some butt-down babies. This flower, according to essence specialist and author Dirk Albrodt, helps you get involved in your own inner thoughts “so much that it feels real. This is a necessary step to making creative imagery and hypnosis work, to consider the impossible, to accept the unacceptable, to enjoy the little miracles in one’s everyday life which are so often overlooked.” For pregnancy and breech specifically he says it “helps one to feel and reconcile with the inner child, acceptance of inner child. Gives safety, security and confidence. Helps one to be able to think and feel like a child again; brings contact to the unborn child; helpful in cases of breech position.”
How To:
Bach is the mainstream maker of flower essences, but I haven’t seen that they have bougainvillea. Try googling “buy bougainvillea flower essence.” Another cheap, easy, no-risk way to try.

Why it might work:

I haven’t the foggiest.
